Prior to joining Glen Echo Group, Miranda served as a Canvass Director for the Fund for Equality. Additionally, she was a communications intern at the Internet Association where she worked on many internet and tech policy issues.

Miranda graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in International and Area Studies concentrated in Development. She spends her free time playing ultimate frisbee, petting every dog, and cheering on her favorite team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Connor Farry serves as an Associate at the Glen Echo Group. He assists a range of technology and cybersecurity clients with press relations, policy research, advocacy and content creation.

Prior to joining the Glen Echo Group, he worked for a range of PR, media and advocacy organizations. Connor served as a social media director for the U.S. office of an International NGO. He also served as a deputy communications director for an elected official in New York. Additionally, Connor has held positions at the DC-based comms firm Precision Strategies, CBS News and worked as an intern on Capitol Hill.

Connor graduated cum laude from the School of Media and Public Affairs at The George Washington University with a degree in Political Communication. A native New Yorker, he struggles with being a Mets fan and loves to travel.

As a Senior Associate, Charlie Vinopal leverages several years of experience in public relations, public affairs, marketing and beyond.

Prior to the Glen Echo Group, Charlie worked for the D.C.-based public relations firm Rational 360, where he worked extensively with a telecommunications association client to help shape public opinion in a shifting industry landscape. Additionally, he assisted with public relations and public affairs messaging for a range of clients focused on national budgetary considerations, the manufacturing industry and beyond.

Charlie graduated from Denison University in Granville, Ohio with a degree in History and Communication in 2016. A native Illinoisan, he loves watching baseball and taking long walks to the Nando’s on his block in Woodley Park. Additionally, he hates to brag that he once ran a 7:30 mile in high school.

Kris Carpenter

CFO

Kris Carpenter is the CFO of the Glen Echo Group. She brings more than 20 years’ experience in corporate finance to GEG; most recently as a consultant to small and medium sized businesses who assisted in setting and achieving strategic financial goals for their growth and profitability.

In her current role, Carpenter provides financial recommendations to support critical business decisions; conducts “what if” analyses; interacts with and supports stakeholder groups; performs cash flow analyses; conducts due diligence; acts as corporate liaison to banks and creditors; and manages all back office activities.

Carpenter grew up in a small Pennsylvania steel town and was the first female in her large extended family to attend college, graduating from Penn State University with a BS degree in Accounting. She recently earned her RYT200 Yoga teaching certification.

She met her husband of 26 years, Scott, at work. Together, they have a grown son, an incredibly sweet Labradoodle, and a pond filled with nearly record-setting sized Koi fish.

Katie Barr serves as the Glen Echo Group’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, specializing in issue advocacy, message development and coalition building. Barr manages the Glen Echo Group’s Chicago office, where she designs and implements successful public affairs campaigns to strategically position executive teams and emerging technologies in the D.C. market and across the nation.

Prior to joining Glen Echo, Barr served as a Director at Qorvis Communications where she represented clients specializing in public relations, grassroots and issue advocacy and social media communications. She also spent time at Trippi & Associates where she learned under the tutelage of one of the nation’s premier political consultants, Joe Trippi, providing multimedia and strategic communications for progressive political, nonprofit and corporate campaigns.

Barr graduated from Brown University with degrees in Political Science and Public Policy and American Institutions. A Chicago native and lifelong Cubs fan, Barr is proudly flying the W in the Windy City, where she serves as a mentor at 1871, Chicago's home for entrepreneurship and technology, and Impact Engine, a Chicago-based venture fund.

Jesse Spector

Senior Director

As Senior Director at Glen Echo Group, Jesse helps clients solve complex problems through innovative media relations, message development, and strategic communications planning.

Prior to joining the Glen Echo Group, Jesse was the  Director of Technology Policy at the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) where she represented the policy interests of a diverse membership of hundreds of digital companies, focusing primarily on issues related to emerging technology, including machine learning and artificial intelligence. 

Before SIIA Jesse was a Policy Officer for the Digital Economy at the Delegation of the European Union to the U.S.A.  Working alongside the Digital Counselor, her role was to liaise between the European Commission in Brussels and stakeholders in the U.S. regarding digital policymaking.  She was also responsible for driving tech industry engagement and outreach, including spearheading the EU’s venue at the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) conference.  Jesse also has experience with the economic development team at the British Consulate-General in San Francisco, a department formerly known as UK Trade & Investment (now called the Department of International Trade).  In that capacity, she worked with enterprise software companies in the Bay Area to help them set up and grow their operations in the UK, and also assisted UK startups to navigate opportunities in Silicon Valley. 

Jesse earned her BA in Political Science from UC Berkeley and MSc in European Politics and Governance from the London School of Economics. She used to host a weekly trivia game at an Irish restaurant in Washington DC,  and looks forward to relaunching it someday!

He previously held positions with GW’s Columbian College of Arts and Sciences and Elliott School of International Affairs. John got his start in Internet policy as a Communications Fellow at the Internet Education Foundation, helping organize and promote Capitol Hill briefings and the annual State of the Net conference.

He earned a Master of Public Administration and a B.A. in Political Communication from the George Washington University. You might spot him running around the National Mall when he’s not on the couch with his greyhound rooting for the New York Yankees or Giants.

Courtney graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Kenyon College with a B.A. in Classics. She strongly believes that Ancient Latin and Greek provide the foundation for great success and that Gambier, Ohio is quite possibly the best place on earth.

Throughout her career, Emma has been deeply invested in efforts to close the digital divide and improve the diversity pipeline within the technology sector.

Emma attended Howard University and is currently attending University of Maryland University College. She enjoys traveling, discovering new hidden treasures and falling in love with new cities.

A veteran journalist with more than 15 years experience, Amy served as an editor at Politico, tech news site Recode and spent more than a decade as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal.

Amy grew up in central Indiana and received a B.S. in Music and Journalism from Indiana University. She earned a Master of Business Administration from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. Before joining Glen Echo Group, Amy served as Vice President of Media Affairs at USTelecom, a trade association representing broadband providers and equipment makers. A veteran journalist with more than 15 years experience, Amy served as an editor at Politico, tech news site Recode and spent more than a decade as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal.

Amy grew up in central Indiana and received a B.S. in Music and Journalism from Indiana University. She earned a Master of Business Administration from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. She lives in Alexandria, where she spends most weekends chasing after her young daughter and their cockapoo puppy.

Vice President

As Vice President at Glen Echo Group, Ellen Satterwhite helps clients formulate policy positions and tell their stories with good one-liners backed by solid data. Previously, Ellen served as Program Director for Gig.U, supporting communities seeking gigabit speeds.

Catherine Dillingham

Director

Catherine Dillingham, known to most as ‘Wren,’ serves as one of the Glen Echo Group’s Directors, specializing in branding and content creation.

Prior to joining Glen Echo, Wren served as a Senior Creative Content Manager at the Internet Association, where she led social media efforts, managed the creation of visual and video assets and aided in organizing strategic, issue-based campaigns. In her spare time, she can be found painting murals or creating chalk art at various breweries in the DMV area.

Wren graduated from the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities before getting her degree in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina. She currently resides in Ivy City with her co-dependent black cat, Marco.

As Senior Director at Glen Echo Group, Dan helps clients solve complex problems through innovative media relations, message development and strategic communications planning.

Prior to joining the Glen Echo Group, Dan spent years as a senior communicator on Capitol Hill, where he was part of many of the biggest legislative and oversight battles of the past decade. Dan most recently served as Communications Director and senior advisor for the U.S. House Ways & Means Committee, where he led a team that was at the forefront of tax reform, healthcare reform, major trade negotiations, and high-profile government investigations. During his time on Capitol Hill, Dan also served as Communications Director for former Congressman Jim McDermott and former Congressman John Tierney.

Before his time on the Hill, Dan led successful communications operations in the non-profit and private sectors. He worked with the national advocacy team at the American Heart Association in Washington, D.C. and created award winning creative content for campaigns, non-profits and corporations at Three Point Media. Dan is a veteran of several local, state and national political campaigns.

Dan lives in Alexandria with his wife, Lauren, and their two mischievous dogs, Dash and Scout.

Anne graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Political Science and earned her Master’s in Public Relations and Corporate Communications at Georgetown University. On the weekends, you will find her watching Notre Dame football or the Real Housewives.

With over two decades of communications, media, public affairs and coalition building experience, Corbett provides strategic counsel to clients faced with the complicated challenges surrounding the shift to the digital, Internet-enabled world, including innovation policy, wireless technologies, broadband deployment and applications, and content-related issues including privacy, security and copyright.

Corbett is Chairman of the Board of Directors for Public Knowledge, a member of the Center for Democracy and Technology Advisory Council and a Business Advisory Board member for the National Hispanic Media Coalition. She is a frequent speaker and commentator on Internet public policy, coalition building, branding and the media.

Corbett "plays a pivotal role as tech navigates its way through the various regulatory challenges in Washington in coming years" according to The Information, which named her one of "Tech’s Frontline in Washington, D.C." in 2019. She was selected as WWPR's PR Woman of the Year in 2019 and was also named a finalist for CEO of the Year by PR News in 2017 and a Top Woman in PR by PR News in 2014. Corbett received the 2010 Women in Technology Leadership Award for her demonstration of exemplary leadership skills and exceptional results in community-related work, the first WIT award ever for a woman in the public affairs industry.
