Maura Colleton Corbett

CEO & Founder

Maura Colleton Corbett is the CEO and Founder of the Glen Echo Group, where she leads the team’s award-winning work in telling the stories of the companies and organizations building the New Economy.

With over two decades of communications, media, public affairs and coalition building experience, Corbett provides strategic counsel to clients faced with the complicated challenges surrounding the shift to the digital, Internet-enabled world, including innovation policy, wireless technologies, broadband deployment and applications, and content-related issues including privacy, security and copyright.

Corbett helps clients translate new technologies and innovations into compelling communications vehicles that resonate with policymakers, press and the public in order to inform forward-looking, successful policies that move the digital economy forward. Corbett brings unique and deep-rooted experience in industry coalition building for a number of high-profile matters, most recently, Net Neutrality, SOPA-PIPA, music licensing, and Wi-Fi. She also has done significant work in mergers and acquisitions within the communications and digital media space.

Corbett is Chairman of the Board of Directors for Public Knowledge, a member of the Center for Democracy and Technology Advisory Council and a Business Advisory Board member for the National Hispanic Media Coalition. She is a frequent speaker and commentator on Internet public policy, coalition building, branding and the media.

Corbett "plays a pivotal role as tech navigates its way through the various regulatory challenges in Washington in coming years" according to The Information, which named her one of "Tech’s Frontline in Washington, D.C." in 2019. She was selected as WWPR's PR Woman of the Year in 2019 and was also named a finalist for CEO of the Year by PR News in 2017 and a Top Woman in PR by PR News in 2014. Corbett received the 2010 Women in Technology Leadership Award for her demonstration of exemplary leadership skills and exceptional results in community-related work, the first WIT award ever for a woman in the public affairs industry. She was recently deemed one of DC Inno's 2016 "50 on Fire" in the Government & Advocacy space.

Corbett lives in Bethesda, MD with her two marvelous daughters and one naughty dog. In a previous life, she used to moonlight as the lead singer in a rock band.

Katie Barr serves as the Glen Echo Group’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, specializing in issue advocacy, message development and coalition building. Barr manages the Glen Echo Group’s Chicago office, where she designs and implements successful public affairs campaigns to strategically position executive teams and emerging technologies in the D.C. market and across the nation.

Prior to joining Glen Echo, Barr served as a Director at Qorvis Communications where she represented clients specializing in public relations, grassroots and issue advocacy and social media communications. She also spent time at Trippi & Associates where she learned under the tutelage of one of the nation’s premier political consultants, Joe Trippi, providing multimedia and strategic communications for progressive political, nonprofit and corporate campaigns.

Barr graduated from Brown University with degrees in Political Science and Public Policy and American Institutions. A Chicago native and lifelong Cubs fan, Barr is proudly flying the W in the Windy City, where she serves as a mentor at 1871, Chicago's home for entrepreneurship and technology, and Impact Engine, a Chicago-based venture fund.

Senior Vice President

Amy Schatz serves as a Senior Vice President at the Glen Echo Group. She helps clients with media outreach, strategic communications planning and content creation.

Before joining Glen Echo Group, Amy served as Vice President of Media Affairs at USTelecom, a trade association representing broadband providers and equipment makers. A veteran journalist with more than 15 years experience, Amy served as an editor at Politico, tech news site Recode and spent more than a decade as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal.

Amy grew up in central Indiana and received a B.S. in Music and Journalism from Indiana University. She earned a Master of Business Administration from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. She lives in Alexandria, where she spends most weekends chasing after her young daughter and their cockapoo puppy.

Catherine Dillingham

Director

Catherine Dillingham, known to most as ‘Wren,’ serves as one of the Glen Echo Group’s Directors, specializing in branding and content creation.

Prior to joining Glen Echo, Wren served as a Senior Creative Content Manager at the Internet Association, where she led social media efforts, managed the creation of visual and video assets and aided in organizing strategic, issue-based campaigns. In her spare time, she can be found painting murals or creating chalk art at various breweries in the DMV area.

Wren graduated from the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities before getting her degree in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina. She currently resides in Ivy City with her co-dependent black cat, Marco.

TJ currently resides right outside of D.C. in Prince George’s County, MD, where he enjoys music, sports and spending time with family.

Prior to joining the Glen Echo Group, he worked for a range of PR, media and advocacy organizations. Connor served as a social media director for the U.S. office of an International NGO. He also served as a deputy communications director for an elected official in New York. Additionally, Connor has held positions at the DC-based comms firm Precision Strategies, CBS News and worked as an intern on Capitol Hill.

Connor graduated cum laude from the School of Media and Public Affairs at The George Washington University with a degree in Political Communication. A native New Yorker, he struggles with being a Mets fan and loves to travel.

Prior to the Glen Echo Group, Carrie worked in luxury hospitality in downtown DC, where she honed her skills in client services. A native Washingtonian, she has since moved to Chicago.

Carrie graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a degree in Romance Languages and Linguistics in 2014. In her free time, she loves playing with her dog Binny, trying new recipes and scouting out any spot with cheese curds on the menu.

As Senior Director at Glen Echo Group, Jesse helps clients solve complex problems through innovative media relations, message development, and strategic communications planning.

Prior to joining the Glen Echo Group, Jesse was the  Director of Technology Policy at the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) where she represented the policy interests of a diverse membership of hundreds of digital companies, focusing primarily on issues related to emerging technology, including machine learning and artificial intelligence. 

Before SIIA Jesse was a Policy Officer for the Digital Economy at the Delegation of the European Union to the U.S.A.  Working alongside the Digital Counselor, her role was to liaise between the European Commission in Brussels and stakeholders in the U.S. regarding digital policymaking.  She was also responsible for driving tech industry engagement and outreach, including spearheading the EU’s venue at the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) conference.  Jesse also has experience with the economic development team at the British Consulate-General in San Francisco, a department formerly known as UK Trade & Investment (now called the Department of International Trade).  In that capacity, she worked with enterprise software companies in the Bay Area to help them set up and grow their operations in the UK, and also assisted UK startups to navigate opportunities in Silicon Valley. 

Jesse earned her BA in Political Science from UC Berkeley and MSc in European Politics and Governance from the London School of Economics. She used to host a weekly trivia game at an Irish restaurant in Washington DC,  and looks forward to relaunching it someday!

Prior to joining Glen Echo Group, Phil worked in Duke Energy's D.C. office, where he served as a spokesperson and managed communications for the company on federal affairs and policy issues such as climate, infrastructure, technology, and innovation. Outside of his role with Duke Energy, Phil has worked in various roles throughout his career where he has managed policy communications efforts at the local, state, and federal levels.

Phil earned a B.A. in History from East Carolina University. On the weekend, you can find him hanging out with his rescue pup in Shaw. Or, if it's football season, you can find Phil cheering for his Philadelphia Eagles at Boundary Stone.

Miranda Neil

Senior Associate

Miranda Neil is a Senior Associate at the Glen Echo Group. She assists a range of technology clients with media relations, policy research, and content development.

Prior to joining Glen Echo Group, Miranda served as a Canvass Director for the Fund for Equality. Additionally, she was a communications intern at the Internet Association where she worked on many internet and tech policy issues.

Miranda graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in International and Area Studies concentrated in Development. She spends her free time playing ultimate frisbee, petting every dog and cheering on her favorite team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Dani Leopold

Director

Dani brings a solid foundation of media relations, crisis communications and social media experience as a Director at Glen Echo Group. Prior to joining the team, Dani was an Account Manager at D.C.-based Subject Matter, where she developed and executed strategic communications and marketing campaigns for security, real estate and economic development clients. 

Previously, she held positions with Inkhouse, a public relations firm in Boston, where she worked with clients in the cybersecurity, defense and higher education fields. She’s also worked as a communications intern for the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C. 

Dani graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in communication, and government and politics. Originally from the Philadelphia area, you can usually find Dani on the salsa dance floor or exploring local trails with her dog Cash.

Lori is the Office Manager at the Glen Echo Group. She wears many hats in her role, from admin and scheduling superhero to cruise director.

Lori is a military spouse and proud mom of two. She has moved too many times to count, but now lives in the DC area and has been with the Glen Echo team since 2018. Williamson is a graduate of the University of Portland. Miranda Neil is a Senior Associate at the Glen Echo Group. She assists a range of technology clients with media relations, policy research, and content development.

Prior to joining Glen Echo Group, Miranda served as a Canvass Director for the Fund for Equality. Additionally, she was a communications intern at the Internet Association where she worked on many internet and tech policy issues.

Dani Leopold

Director

Dani brings a solid foundation of media relations, crisis communications and social media experience as a Director at Glen Echo Group. Prior to joining the team, Dani was an Account Manager at D.C.-based Subject Matter, where she developed and executed strategic communications and marketing campaigns for security, real estate and economic development clients. 

Previously, she held positions with Inkhouse, a public relations firm in Boston, where she worked with clients in the cybersecurity, defense and higher education fields. She’s also worked as a communications intern for the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C.

As Director of Finance, Neville manages the firm’s day to day accounting function, annual budgeting, monthly forecasts, and financial reporting.

Prior to joining Glen Echo Group, Neville joined Delucchi Plus in 2011, a branding, marketing, and PR agency in DC, as their Billing Manager. In 2013 he was promoted to Assistant Controller, where he managed the books and financial reporting for the Travel & Tourism division of Delucchi Plus. In 2016 Delucchi Plus joined forces with Streetsense Consulting, a “creative collective” in Bethesda MD. Once the two companies were integrated, Neville focused on data integrity, project profitability, resource allocation & planning and project reporting. Before moving to the US, Neville held various finance and accounting positions in the UK, where he gained experience abroad at companies like Genesis Housing Group, T-Mobile UK and Lasalle Investment Management.

Neville lives in Falls Church, Virginia, with his wife and three young children. Neville and his wife Krissy enjoy taking the kids on walks, visiting local breweries and wineries with friends, swimming, playing tennis, and splashing in the waves at Bethany Beach and the OBX.

Andrea O’Neal is a director with Glen Echo Group. A dedicated and driven communicator, she has experience in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and moving between long-term, big-picture planning to detail-oriented, day-to-day operations.

Previously, Andrea was the Senior Manager of Communications for National Geographic Society’s Impact Programs, elevating projects and partnerships aimed at expanding scientific discoveries, educating the public on the extinction crisis and conserving some of the planet’s last wild places.

Prior to that role, Andrea was an Account Supervisor on the Public Affairs & Crisis team for Burson Cohn and Wolfe, the third largest PR agency in the world. As a mid-level executive, Andrea was responsible for specializing in reputation management, and providing strategic counsel for Fortune 100 companies. In times of crisis, she helped with crisis resistance, readiness, response and recovery.

Andrea has experience in positioning executives and campaigns within the Washington, D.C. landscape—particularly through the use of events. She has successfully helped support the media components of strategic communications campaigns for a broad range of global brands, establishing relationships with targeted media and working to place clients into top-tier and local publications. She has an affinity for diversity and inclusion efforts, and has pulled together initiatives to champion minority communities and amplify corporate community work.

Previously, she also worked for Potomac Communications Group and specialized in press relations, social media and research for a range of clients in the energy and technology sector. Kylee graduated from Clemson University with a B.A. in Communication Studies and earned her M.A. in Political Communication from American University. Before joining GEG, she successfully managed two local political campaigns in her hometown of Santa Barbara, California.

Senior Associate

As a Senior Associate at Glen Echo Group, Kylee has expertise in strategic communications, media relations, and advocacy. She has worked on multi-partner initiatives and projects to increase awareness on some of the most pressing global issues. Prior to joining the team, Kylee was a Communications Manager at the World Resources Institute (WRI) in Washington, D.C., where she led communications campaigns and other efforts to lower emissions in the private sector.

Previously, she also worked for Potomac Communications Group and specialized in press relations, social media and research for a range of clients in the energy and technology sector. Kylee graduated from Clemson University with a B.A. in Communication Studies and earned her M.A. in Political Communication from American University. Originally from Pittsgrove, New Jersey, you can usually find Kylee and her puppy, Leo, cheering on their favorite sports teams (NYY and Clemson Tigers) or finding new food spots around D.C.

Tiffany Garcia

Associate

Tiffany Garcia is an Associate at the Glen Echo Group. She works with a variety of interesting clients involved in the virtual reality, cybersecurity and broadband industries, assisting with policy advocacy, research and media outreach.

Prior to joining the Glen Echo Group as an Associate, Tiffany worked with the firm as an intern, where her interest in all things tech and tech policy grew. She’s previously worked in many areas of the communications industry including on political campaigns, in newsrooms and on the ground grassroots movements. Before joining GEG, she successfully managed two local political campaigns in her hometown of Santa Barbara, California.

Tiffany graduated from the George Washington University with a degree in Political Communication June 2022. When she’s not at work, you can find Tiffany hiking, biking or reading in her hammock around DC.

Kelsey Besterman

Director

Kelsey Besterman is a Director at Glen Echo Group, bringing deep experience in advocacy and reputation campaigns.

Her background centers on issue advocacy, public affairs, and digital campaigns for clients including nonprofits, coalitions, think tanks, Fortune 500 corporations, trade associations, professional societies in a variety of complex sectors such as technology, agriculture, energy, labor, and healthcare. Her experience spans local, state, national, and international as well as owned, earned, and paid campaigns and initiatives.

Kelsey grew up across the Midwest and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Political Broadcast Journalism from Indiana's DePauw University. She moved to D.C. shortly after college, but recently moved into Virginia's Shenandoah mountains with her husband and two dogs.

Alex Edwards

Associate

Alex is an incoming Associate at Glen Echo Group. He works with a variety of clients on competition and broadband issues, helping with policy analysis and strategic communications planning.

Previously, Alex interned for Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in both her District and Washington offices. He has also interned for top lobbying firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck and the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office.

Alex attended George Washington University, studying Political Communication. Outside of work, you can find him training for his next marathon, reading sci-fi, and cheering on the 49ers, Giants, and Warriors.
