As Vice President with Glen Echo Group, Heather Janik brings 15 years of frontline media and public affairs experience that helps clients effectively tell their stories and navigate the nuances of policy related communications.
Heather brings knowledge from both the government and nonprofit sectors to her role. She served as a senior media advisor at Feeding America, the #2 charity in the United States, and acted as a spokesperson in Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s Administration for six years.
Her background extends to counseling the City of Cleveland on crisis response in the wake of the Tamir Rice shooting, acting as an Associate Producer at FOX News Channel and serving as a Deputy Press Secretary with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. Early in her career, Heather enjoyed stints on Capitol Hill.
Heather graduated with honors from the George Washington University School of Media & Public Affairs. She is a member of the National Press Club, volunteers with Dress for Success to help low-income Washington women thrive in their professional lives and supports, and firmly believes, in the impactful work of the Capital Area Food Bank.
She resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband and their dog Winston. It’s Winston who runs the house.
