Washington, D.C., February 4, 2019 – Award-winning creative communications firm Glen Echo Group announced today that Michael R. Bloomberg Administration and Fox News veteran Heather Janik has joined the firm as a Vice President. With over 15 years of communications and public affairs experience, Janik is an industry leader in crisis communications, corporate social responsibility, reputational management and public affairs campaigns.

Janik joins the Glen Echo Group from Feeding America, the country’s largest domestic hunger charity, where she led thought leadership and media relations efforts, securing top print, broadcast and editorial media coverage. Prior to Feeding America, she drove communications efforts for the nonprofit Council for a Strong America, advancing early childhood education efforts.
For six years, Janik was the lead spokesperson for homelessness under Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. In addition, she provided strategic counsel to the City of Cleveland in the wake of the Tamir Rice shooting. A former producer for Fox News, Janik has a strong and proven background in earned and editorial media strategy. With a passion for policy work, she started her career on the Hill with the House Republican Conference and Congressman David Reichert. During George W. Bush’s presidency, Janik served as the Deputy Press Secretary for the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.
Janik graduated cum laude from The George Washington University’s School of Media & Public Affairs with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
