Washington, DC, Sept 19, 2016 – Glen Echo Group announced today that it will be partnering with Vox Media as a sponsor of the inaugural Vox Conversations conference in Washington, D.C. on September 21-22, 2016. The two-day event will gather a diverse community of high-level thought leaders in conversations about issues affecting the future of the country, including health care, poverty, infrastructure development and reforming Congress.

Glen Echo Group, a strategic communications firm working at the intersection of technology policy and communications, creates successful issue campaigns and coalitions covering a range of high-profile challenges facing the digital world from broadband access and free speech to privacy and cybersecurity. Glen Echo Group created and managed the award-winning campaign to stop the AT&T takeover of T-Mobile, the history-making “SOPA-PIPA” effort and the nationwide initiative to bring high-speed broadband to communities and universities across the country.

“As an uncompany ourselves, we fell in love with the unconference idea as a way to break through to real conversation,” said Maura Corbett, Glen Echo Group Founder and CEO. “Partnering with Vox to help advance innovative ideas and solutions that will benefit our country perfectly aligns with the ethos of Glen Echo Group.”

Per Vox.com: “Vox is bringing together a diverse community of thinkers for Vox Conversations, an invitation-only gathering, full of new voices pursuing new solutions. This is a different kind of conference. No panels, no preset schedule, no long hours squirming through a discussion you don’t much care about. Everyone is a participant, and the conversations will be created and led by the attendees... “The one rule for the conference is that we don’t want to be bound by the narrow confines of what seems possible today. Let’s think about the world as it could and should be, not as it is.”
